Hiking up to the cross on the top of Chalky Mount is a very pretty hike. At the start you get beautiful views of the Atlantic (east) coast looking south, and at the top there are great views looking north that take in Long Pond and Walker’s Reserve.
A bit of climbing is involved, and a lot of uphill hiking, so some level of physical fitness is required. If you continue down the other side to the right of the cross you will come to a hole in the rock, that looks north, providing great photo opportunities.
